BPC-157 is a peptide composed of 15 amino acids. This peptide is derived from a portion of body protective compound (BPC) naturally produced by tissues in the stomach. The discovery of its potent organ protective and cellular defence effects led to its further development.
Studies have revealed that treatment with BPC-157 led to the regeneration of various tissues, including skin, muscles, tendons, and bones in animal experiments .
